We Are All Breast Cancer Aware. What About You, Where’s your Pink Ribbon?

Pink Ribbon Against Breast Cancer

October, generally associated to autumn colors, longer nights and shorter days, hazy weather and humidity literally invading your bones, marks a special international occurrence we would rather not have to blog about, the breast cancer awareness month.

Nevertheless, raising women’s awareness is a primary need these days as the number of them suffering from this evil illness rises day by day, as well as other forms of cancer.

According to the 2008 World Cancer Report, breast cancer is the most frequent type of cancer women suffer from; a striking 1,384,155  found themselves fighting against the malevolent disease in 2008 (22.9% of all cancer cases in women that year). Almost half a million of them died. Furthermore, when looking at the stats for both sexes, breast cancer still beats any other type of cancer the world population has to come to terms with.  That’s enough said.
