New Interface for 6,137 OA Journals in DOAJ

When it comes to tracking down the ever growing number of open access journals from everywhere around the world, DOAJ, the Directory of Open Access Journals, is the first to take “measures”. DOAJ has now grown to the size of 6,137 open access journals, which makes for 542,297 open access articles altogether.

Managed by the librarians at the Lund University in Sweden, DOAJ is also supported by many individuals and organizations such as SPARC, and remains today the key originator of increased visibility, usage and impact of open access papers in different languages. Defined by its aims and scope as, “a one stop shop for users to Open Access journals,” it has recently announced a new user interface with “some graphic changes and also a slightly different structure”.

By country, the greatest number of journals added to DOAJ is from USA, then Brazil, United Kingdom, Spain and India, and the list expands to a number of 110 countries so far. The Directory aims to cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content. Two of our journals are listed in DOAJ, International Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, and International Journal of Engineering Business Management. To make this directory even more comprehensive and abundant, DOAJ will always welcome your support by either membership or action.
